Event details

The Music Department at the University of Southampton are delighted to host this competition for the fourth year, showcasing student performances of the celebrated, twentieth-century, English composer’s instrumental pieces and songs.

We’re looking forward to welcoming special guests to the John Ireland Prize: Professor Vince Emery, the generous donor of the prize, and David Wordsworth, the director of the John Ireland Trust. They, alongside head of Classical Performance, Professor David Owen Norris, will judge this year's competitors: pianist Ming Wang, violinist Emma Benson, and singers Talia Pearce, Hannah Swadling, Adam Greenhow & Liujun Chen, with accompaniment by Verity Brooks and Duncan Honeybourne.

Free admission.
