Event details

Part of the Music Research Seminar series

The Prague Provisional Theatre, opened in 1862, was the precursor of the Czech National Theatre which now stands on the banks of the Vltava. Its, much delayed, opening and subsequent repertoire is a central strand in the history of the Czech national revival. Debates concerning its function and subsequent operation cast fascinating light on this vibrant period.
