About our guests

Dr Daisy Dixon, a Lecturer in Philosophy at Cardiff University, is a philosopher of art and an artist. Her research spans aesthetics, philosophy of language, and political philosophy. She explores how visual art behaves as a kind of speech, how curators can affect what an artwork communicates to its audience, and the nature of aesthetic injustice.

Katherine Tinker is a pianist and performer whose practice embraces classical and contemporary music, performance art and opera.  She enjoys interdisciplinary work, collaborating with artists of all kinds.  In 22/23 she will play at hcmf//, LCMF, Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival, the University of North Carolina, and curate a festival of experimental performance at the Fruitmarket, Edinburgh.  Her group p.e.r.s.o.n.a.l.c.l.u.t.t.e.r will be in residence at the Iceland University of the Arts.

As a multi-genre chamber musician, orchestral pianist and music director, Yshani Perinpanayagam has performed at venues ranging from Wigmore Hall to the London Palladium, with artists from the Philharmonia to Nina Conti, and at events from the Oxford Lieder Festival to the Barbican Mime Festival. She is pianist of the Del Mar Piano Trio and Carismático Tango Band. Yshani is a guest broadcaster on BBC Radio 3.
