Prof. Philipp Schneider
Prof. Philipp Schneider

Professor Philipp Schneider (PI)

Director (Academic) & Academic Theme Leader μ-VIS,

Philipp Schneider is Associate Professor in Biomedical Imaging. He leads the Wellcome Trust-funded Biomedical Resource and Technology Development project in Engineering and Medicine at UoS to establish the foundations for 3D X-ray histology (XRH) | www.xrayhistology.org

Dr Peter Lackie (BA, MA, PhD)
Dr Peter Lackie (BA, MA, PhD)

Dr Peter Lackie (co-I)

Academic Lead, Biomedical Imaging Unit

Peter leads and coordinates biomedical aspects of the development of correlative 3D imaging, particularly of human lung. New approaches for the analysis and display of 3D lung datasets from µCT, light sheet microscopy, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy are being applied. He is an Associate Professor in the School of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Anton Page

Anton is a lecturer, Clinical Scientist and Director of the Biomedical Imaging Unit, a joint University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS)/University of Southampton (UoS) facility for high quality/high resolution diagnostic and research microscopy

Prof. Ian Sinclair
Prof. Ian Sinclair

Professor Ian Sinclair (co-I)

Academic Theme Leader & Fmr. Director μ-VIS

As founding director of μ-VIS, serving all UoS Faculties, and offered as a national academic and industrial resource, Ian has been involved in all aspects of developing and setting up a shared facility.

Prof. Simon Cox (co-I)
Prof. Simon Cox

Professor Simon Cox (co-I)

Professor of Computational Methods in FEPS

Simon's research focuses on computational tools, technologies and platforms and how they enable interdisciplinary problems to be solved in engineering and science. He served as Universities Chief Information Officer responsible for University's IT systems, information and processes with a team of around 300 staff and is also Director of the Microsoft Institute for High Performance computing
