Professor Abobakr Khalil Al-Shamiri

Abobakr Khalil Al-Shamiri is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM).
Prior to his recent appointment at the UoSM, he was a Research Professor at the Research Center for Disaster Prevention Science and Technology at Korea University, Republic of Korea. He also served as a lecturer at the University of Science and Technology (UST) and the International University of Technology Twintech (IUTT) in Yemen. Al-Shamiri received his B.Tech in Information Technology from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, India. He received his M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Hyderabad, India. His research interests include machine learning and metaheuristic approaches, as well as their applications to a variety of engineering problems, and intrusion detection in Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs).
