Dr Geoff Merrett is EEE Senior Admissions Tutor at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus.

Dr Geoff Merrett is a lecturer in the School of Electronics and Computer Science. He was awarded a first class honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2004, and a PhD in 2009 for his thesis on "Energy- and Information-Managed Wireless Sensor Networks: Modelling and Simulation." His research interests are in energy-aware wireless sensing and sensor networks, energy harvesting, modelling and simulation, pervasive healthcare and wearable devices. He lectures on digital circuits and microprocessors, coordinates the first year electronic and electrical lab programme, co-organises the Electronic Engineering programme's flagship second year design exercise, supervises a number of undergraduate and MSc projects, and is Senior Admissions Tutor for the undergraduate Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) degree programme. He is also the University's representative on the UK Electronics Skills Foundation, a collaboration between industry and universities which, alongside promoting a career in electronics, provides scholarships, summer employment and industrial mentoring to many of our undergraduates.
