Dr Rusyaizila Ramli  MSc, PhD

Assistant Professor for Computer Science Programme

Rusyaizila Ramli is an Assistant Professor for Computer Science Programme at the University of Southampton, Malaysia. She is also a registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). 

After completing her bachelor's degree with Honours in Information Technology from University Malaya (UM), she was awarded a scholarship under Bumiputera Academic Training Scheme (SLAB) to further her study in MSc in Multimedia Networking at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. She was then back to Malaysia to work as a lecturer in UM for a short period before pursuing her Ph.D. in Information System at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).  
 
During her Ph.D. years, she was one of the post-graduate committee members for the School of Computer Science, USM. She and a few other students from the same background were actively conducting a handful of workshops in the subject matter using the qualitative analysis tool. In addition, she managed to secure several research grants and published a few journals whilst completing her Ph.D. 
 
To supplement her outstanding academic achievement, she equipped herself with industry experience, after completing her Ph.D. She had the exposure of working abroad as a training specialist with Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC), Abu Dhabi, UAE for a good couple of years. Her main role was to design, develop, implement, deliver, and maintain the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) that is used by instructional designers to handle all activities related to e-Learning content.  
 
Rusyaizila was then continued her academic journey with Management and Science University, Malaysia as a Senior Lecture. She was teaching various subjects to the undergraduate and postgraduate students, related to her expertise while at the same time, supervising bachelor's degree students with their final year projects as well as postgraduate students. Besides teaching and supervising, she has been given numerous responsibilities involving research and administrative tasks including curriculum development and auditing. Her accomplishment for Gold Award for ITEX2020 and the Gold and Special Award in MTE2020, specifically for her exceptional work in research, together with her team, was the proof of her relentless effort to strive better.  She is also active in conducting community service to give back to the community.  

Research interests

Her current research domain focuses on data governance as generic and in health informatics working towards the privacy and ethical issues on the patients' personal information. Other than that, she has a strong interest in qualitative research, educational technology, and information science.
