Dr Heng Wei Wei BEng, PhD

Dr. Wei Wei Heng is an assistant professor in mechanical engineering and aeronautics and astronautics engineering. She is involved in the delivery of several courses, including Electrical and Electronics Systems, Electronics and Control, as well as Systems Design and Computing. Her current research interests include health monitoring, biomedical signal processing, robotics, and artificial intelligence. She is now actively involved in research related to biomedical signal and image processing as well as drone autonomous navigation.

She graduated in 2015 from University Technology Malaysia with Malakoff Academic Excellence Award and a first-class honours BEng degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She participated in ABU ROBOCON competition for years, mainly in charge of PIC programming and robot control. Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, she has worked as a software engineer, mainly working on integration of multiple biometric devices and development of desktop application. In 2020, she was awarded a PhD degree for her research on prediction of malignant ventricular arrhythmia using electrocardiogram signal and artificial intelligence in University Technology Malaysia. A prototype incorporating the sensor, website and mobile application was developed alongside the PhD project.

Research interests

Heath monitoring - IoT, sensor and algorithm, and biomedical signal processing.
