Higher Education Ministry gives boost for research

Published: 6 August 2012

Faculty members at the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus are the recipients of two research grants from the Higher Education Ministry.

The two-year research grants — the first offered to USMC — are in line with the 10th Malaysia Plan and fall under the ministry’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS).

The first grant will fund an on-going research collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan.

The second research grant will fund an investigation into graphene growth on silicon.
