Visa, Passport and Identity Checks

Arrangements

The University is required to take copies of necessary documents from new students. You will therefore need to provide some information as soon as you arrive. To assist you, you will be sent a registration check-list prior to your arrival – you can download it below. Please bring this with you, along with all of the necessary documentation, in duplicate.

Orientation is compulsory for all students. International students must inform the University in advance if they are unable to attend the orientation by emailing enrolusmc@soton.ac.uk to obtain permission for late registration.

Documents/Information to bring with you

Please ensure that you bring the following ORIGINAL documents with you. You will not be able to register or enrol without them:

International Student Pass (Visa)

The University requires all international students (except diplomatic pass holders, Malaysian permanent residents and Malaysia my second home (MMSH) applicants) to hold a student pass while studying at our Malaysia campus.

The University will apply for the student pass on your behalf and it is usually valid for one year. We can apply for a renewal or extension, but you are personally responsible for submitting the necessary documents for initial application and renewal (inform us at least two months prior to the expiry date). It usually takes three months for the student pass to be approved.
