Internships

We encourage our students to start preparing for their future career from an early stage in their degree programme. We support students to find an internship at our Malaysia campus and we have excellent links with local industries as well as offering internships at the University of Southampton. Our students have found internships to be extremely valuable as they have learned new skills, gained more knowledge, built industrial contacts and improved their confidence.

My internship allowed me to work on industrial/research projects where I could use my skills to help solve real-life challenges.

This internship has provided me with the knowledge and skills in manufacturing which will be useful for my design module and projects during my degree studies.

The most useful skills I gained from my internship are project management, public speaking and teamwork, which I have applied to my degree studies.

This internship experience gave me an important understanding of how a jet engine works in real life. I was able to apply the knowledge I learnt in my lectures and put them into practice.

The internship has broadened my perspective of the industry. I now know much more about the Oil & Gas and the Service industry from both technical as well as business aspects.

My internship involved building a sustainable drone for the Amazon so I had the privilege to visit the Amazon Rainforest located in Brazil.
