NAMRIP researchers are looking into the possibility of collaborating with Adtec Healthcare who are tackling antibiotic resistance using alternative technologies to antibiotics.

In random controlled trials, it has been shown that Adtec Non Thermal Gas Plasma reduces infection in wounds better than antibiotics [1], is effective against biofilms [2,3], and is effective in treating infection at surgical sites [4,5].

Gas Plasma is a broad spectrum antimicrobial (including multi-resistant strains) and, as it has a physical mode of action, resistance is unlikely [6].
