Professor Tim Leighton's StarStream, patented by the University of Southampton and in commercial production by Ultrawave Ltd, was awarded product of the year in September 2014. The international accolade, by Safe, Successful and Sustainable Laboratories (S-Lab) was presented at a Gala Dinner at Kings College London.
