On 9 November 2018, Professor Leighton gave a talk on NAMRIP at the University Hospital Southampton at an event chaired by Professor Salim Khakoo entitled “Clinicians meet Engineers” (programme shown below).

The event was organised under the auspices of the MRC Confidence in Concept grant, an annual rolling grant won in part to replace the NAMRIP pump priming projects originally funded by EPSRC.

Dr Parwez Hossain gave a talk on one of his research projects which involved working with engineers to develop a microchip that can help detect eye infections, part of which was initiated by NAMRIP pump priming funding.
