On 20 May 2019 the National Biofilm Innovation Centre (NBIC) undertook its first NBIC Summit. This meeting was held at the Royal Society and gave the International Scientific Advisory Board a first chance to meet to see presentations on the strategy and work of NBIC.

Because of the importance of biofilms to AMR and Infection Prevention (and vice versa), NBIC is a key partner for NAMRIP as we develop strategies to help identify key problems, generate the teams to address them, and support the provision of funding for those teams.

The photo on the right shows new NBIC Research Fellow Odel Soren explain her research on ‘Low dose Nitric Oxide for the effective treatment of biofilms in wounds’ to Professor Tim Leighton.
