Sloan Water Technology Ltd., Global-NAMRIP’s first start-up company, converted its facilities to produce PPE for healthcare workers and first responders, to assist them in the COVID-19 pandemic. The PPE was supplied at no charge.

The operation was split into two teams.

Carl Knox (along with his father, Ian, a former fireman), built visors for local first responders including coastguards.

George Bareham and Freya Malcher built visors and mask supports for the NHS, including specific supplies to members of staff at the Royal South Hants hospital in Southampton.

The rest of SWT provided support for these activities.

Professor Leighton said “I am delighted that we were able to switch operations, and commend the team for all their efforts.”
