At the close of Global-NAMRIP’s 2021 conference, members said a fond farewell to Yvonne Richardson, who has been NAMRIP’s network manager since its foundation in 2015.

At the presentation of the card and gift, following a collection from around the world by Global-NAMRIP members, Professor Leighton noted how, in the card’s messages from members, words that were repeated over and over by members referred to her skills, competence, wisdom, friendliness, kindness, dedication, helpfulness, warmth, supportiveness and how much she has been a champion in the fight against antimicrobial resistance and worked so hard to promote infection prevention and support the people in Global-NAMRIP to achieve their best.

Professor Leighton spoke about how, since the foundation of NAMRIP in 2015, Yvonne has looked after everyone, from member’s issues, to organizing funding competitions, conferences and posters, the prize-giving, the travel overseas and the caring for students, policymakers, researchers and committees.

To complement her ambitions for her garden in her retirement, the team presented Yvonne with a wind sculpture (photographed in Yvonne's garden).

Yvonne graciously thanked the members, who all wished her well for her retirement.
