I chose Natural Sciences because of the freedom, Southampton allows Natural sciences students to choose many of their modules, which I feel gives me a greater control over my own degree. It means I’m obtaining a very broad base of knowledge which, in turn, will allow me to specialise in the things that truly interest me.

So far, every member of teaching staff I have met at Southampton has been exceptional. Students get endless help and knowledge from people who are experts in the fields they are learning.

I chose to study at Southampton for three main reasons. I thought the Southampton Natural Sciences degree was unique and it suited be perfectly. Southampton is a great location; the city is fantastic with everything you could ever need. Southampton also has a very good reputation, not only is it already one of the finest universities in the UK, it is growing and will continue to be at the forefront of science for many years.

Once I graduate, I intend to continue to pursue academia. I am intent on completing a PhD in either Zoology or Neurology with the aim of eventually finding my way into research and lecturing.
