Other work areas

NETSCC plays a key strategic role participating in initiatives across the NIHR in priority areas, coordinating activities to increase synergies and impact.

NETSCC is leading on the following NIHR initiatives: the NIHR Journals Library, coordinating randomised controlled trials, international work the James Lind Alliance, as well as Adding Value in Research, and Public Health Research development.

These activities further support the success of the NIHR as an integrated research system.

NIHR Journals Library

The NIHR Journals Library, managed by the editorial office at NETSCC, provides open access to an extensive body of health research commissioned by the NIHR. It stands as an important, permanent and comprehensive record of the work which the NIHR has funded.

International work

NIHR Evaluations Trials and Studies programmes work at an international level to fund the best research and enhance the reputation of the NIHR, and are willing to consider collaboration with foreign and international agencies.

James Lind Alliance

NETSCC coordinates the work of the James Lind Alliance (JLA) Priority Setting Partnerships (PSPs). The JLA PSPs identify and prioritise treatment uncertainties which they agree are the most important for research.

Randomised controlled trials

NETSCC has developed and implemented collaborative activity to coordinate all NIHR randomised trials. This activity provides a level of awareness and focus for the NIHR randomised trials portfolio and planning.
