Event details

The University of Southampton will be launching its campaign to raise £25 million to create the UK's first dedicated Centre for Cancer Immunology.

The University’s immunology and immunotherapy research has been at the forefront of the fight to beat cancer for 40 years, and now the University will invest in this research with the launch of its most ambitious campaign to date: to raise £25 million to create the UK's first dedicated Centre for Cancer Immunology.

Professor Peter Johnson, Professor of Oncology at Southampton and Cancer Research UK's Chief Clinician, will act as the keynote speaker for the evening, and will be joined by a panel of distinguished experts to discuss immunology, nursing and aftercare including Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Dean of Health Sciences at Southampton University and Chief Clinician for Macmillan Cancer Support and Fiona Dalton, Chief Executive of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

The University of Southampton's groundbreaking research is using the body's immune system to defeat cancer.

We are seeing outstanding results from our clinical trials. Our £25 million fundraising campaign aims to open the first dedicated state-of-the-art Centre for Cancer Immunology in the UK.
