Event details

Join us for our fourth online event in our COVID-19 series highlighting the involvement of colleagues from the faculty of Health Sciences to support the pandemic. COVID Healthcare Response: Vaccinator Training and PPE will be held on Tuesday 20 July, 18:00-19:00. In this event we will hear from Professor Julie Cullen, Head of Nursing, Midwifery and Health in the School of Health Sciences. Julie will give an insight into how her team joined the NHS work force to deliver training for healthcare professionals to give COVID-19 vaccinations. Their collaboration has played a huge part into the success of the vaccination roll-out, whilst continuing to deliver degree-level educational programmes to students at the University. We will also hear from Dr Peter Worsley, Associate Professor in Health Sciences who will talk about his research into PPE. Working with colleagues from Cardiff University, the team is looking to create the perfect fitting mask to protect frontline workers at the heart of the coronavirus pandemic. The event will be hosted by Professor Jackie Bridges, Professor of Older People’s Care and will include a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions.
