UCU industrial action at University of Southampton 2022-2023

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) at 150 universities, including the University of Southampton, have voted to support industrial action over the national issues of pay, working conditions and reforms to the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

UCU members undertook industrial action at our University in November 2022, February and March 2023, and continue to take some action short of a strike (ASOS) on the issues of pay and working conditions, but not USS. The current mandate for industrial action expires on 30 September 2023.

All of our colleagues care deeply about the education of our students and the wider activities of our University, and we will continue to work to minimise the impact of any action on our community.
