Congratulations Jenny Walker, PhD FSI LTDS - Student Poster Winner at UT2019
 
Huge congratulations to Jenny Walker (SMMI-LTDS/NEXUS PhD, Maritime Robotics Laboratory, FSI-CMEE-SoE-FEPS-UoS) for winning the best student poster competition at the:
 
IEEE International Symposium on Underwater Technology 2019, Taipei (Conference HP http://ut19.tori.org.tw/webpage/index.aspx)
 
Her winning paper/poster is entitled:
 
The effect of physics-based corrections and data augmentation on transfer learning for segmentation of benthic imagery. Supervised by Blair Thornton (FSI, CMEE), Adam Prugel-Bennet (VLC, ECS), Veerle Huvenne (NOC) and Henry Ruhl (NOC).
 
Well deserved and really highlighting the amazing strength of UoS and SMMI in the marine robotics/autonomy. Jenny will also be representing Engineering at the University 3MT grand final in May.
