We have longstanding interests in the material culture of the period 1200-1800. Our publications range from editions of medieval and early modern household accounts and inventories, to studies of the everyday, of jewellery and plate, textiles and clothing, the material culture of eating, the material world and slavery, goods and empire, as well as collecting and curating.

This conference brings together our perspectives and research on objects. It comes at the start of series of projects that will open up new ways of looking at the world of material goods and possessions.
