Research interests

  • Investigative analytical geochemistry

Characterisation of tar balls collected from beaches in Devon and Cornwall to identify the geographical origin using organic biomarker ratios measured by gas chromatography - mass spectrometry.

Method development and optimisation of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for quantitatively analysing metals in seawater.

Research projects: Researching questions around how developmental plasticity influences speciation within the Palaeoceanography and Palaeoclimatology research group at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton. Computed tomography, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, isotopic analysis, and relational databases.
