Specialisms: Physical Oceanography; Earth System Modelling

The meridional overturning circulation (MOC): theory, modelling and role in millennial climate variability.

The energetics of ocean circulation, especially sources and sinks of gravitational potential energy (GPE).

Glacial cycles in atmospheric CO2 and climate.

Earth system modelling, mainly with GENIE.

High latitude oceanography, especially the Nordic Seas.
