Academic qualifications:

2017 – present University of Southampton – Postdoctoral Research Fellow
2014 – 2017 Florida State University – Postdoctoral Research Associate
2008 – 2014 University of Plymouth – PhD Chemical Oceanography
2007 – 2008 University of Plymouth – MSc Applied Marine Science
2004 – 2007 University of Portsmouth – BSc (Hons) Marine Biology

Research interests

Dr Wyatt is a marine biogeochemist with research interests in the cycling of trace elements in the marine environment. Specifically, Dr Wyatt explores the processes that modulate the availability of bio-essential trace elements, such as iron and zinc, to marine microbiology and how biological interactions and ocean circulation couple to determine the biogeochemical fate of these elements. Dr Wyatt's interdisciplinary research is approached through a combination of field observations and laboratory investigations, utilizing state of the art analytical techniques. Dr Wyatt's research has taken him from Southern Chile to the North Pole.
