Winter graduation - A day to celebrate!

Published: 17 December 2014

Students from Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Ocean and Earth Sciences celebrated their achievements with friends and family at their Winter graduation today.

The formal ceremony held at the Turner Sims Concert Hall is culmination of years of study, and hard work. It was a great day to celebrate and acknowledge each student’s achievement which friends, family, colleagues and peers. There were over 50 students graduating and although the weather was slightly overcast, the students and their families were not. Spirits were high and the atmosphere was one of jubilation!

“Graduation is always a highlight of the year,” says Professor Rachel Mills, who presented the graduates from the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences to the presiding officer and the Chancellor of the University, Dame Helen Alexander. “I very much enjoyed marking the occasion with all of our hardworking students. Although we are saying goodbye to many, we hope they will stay in touch with us as part of our alumni community.”
