Ocean and Earth Day Event

 

Last year over 2,500 members of the public attended the event, and this year visitors will once again get the chance to go aboard our working research vessel Callista, operate an underwater vehicle, visit the aquarium, take a closer look at fossils and sea life and listen to fascinating and informative talks. Most of the activities are hands-on and suitable for people of all ages.

If you are interested in studying a degree in oceanography, marine biology, geology or geophysics, lecturers and current students will be on- hand to provide information about our range of courses, and to answer any questions you may have about these fascinating subjects.

Our Ocean and Earth Science alumni stand will feature memorabilia and archive photographs donated by former students, showing how teaching and research has developed over the years.

Admission is free and there is no need to pre-book. Access is through Dock Gate 4 off Platform Road. There is limited parking on site and visitors who walk, cycle or use public transport will be entered into a free prize draw.
