Science and Engineering Festival 2017 will be taking place on Saturday 18th March on both Highfield and Boldrewood campuses.

 

This one-day, free event is the spectacular finale of the Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF). The University will be opening both Highfield and Boldrewood campus to the public to come and explore science and engineering through a wide-range of hands on activities, shows/demonstrations, talks and tours of the University's state of the art research environments.

The event is organised by the University's Public Engagement with Research unit (www.soton.ac.uk/per) and supported by the UK Science Festivals Network (http://sciencefestivals.uk/)

Time: 10:30 until 16:30 (last admission at 16:00)

Activities from Ocean and Earth Science will be housed in the Lloyd's Register building on Boldrewood campus and include:

• How CO2 is warming our planet
• I, coastal designer
• Ocean of Microbes
• An ecosystem in a bottle
• Climate change and sea level
• From Glowing Sea Anemones to Medical Research
• From Nylon to Nurdles

We recommend booking your tickets to the event in advance. These tickets are free to ‘purchase’ but will allow you to beat the queues for registration on the day – giving you more time to enjoy the activities. Click the red link above for tickets.
