Event details

The event is a joint exhibition from the Vulgar Earth Collective and scientists from the Coral Reef Lab at the University of Southampton.

Prof Joerg Wiedenmann and Dr Cecilia D'Angelo of the Coral Reef Laboratory at the University of Southampton and the Vulgar Earth artist collective invite you to the much anticipated 'Bleached' exhibition taking place at The Crawford Room, God's House Tower, Southampton from Saturday 28 March - Friday 9 April 2020.

This exhibition of colour, light and dark where science meets art is part of an exciting broader project relating to Prof Wiedenmann and Dr Cecilia D'Angelo's research on coral reefs. The exhibition will be an opportunity to learn about the environmental and societal impacts of their work and we hope to establish partnerships that will support a wider programme of exhibitions and activities touring the country to educate and inspire the public about coral and the environment. Bleached Exhibition

The extraordinary beauty of fluorescing coral colours may not be a sign of health but a distress call, a last defence against environmental changes.
