I am a current PhD student and part of the INSPIRE DTP programme. I am split between the Physical Oceanography group at the National Oceanography Centre and the Polar Ocans group within the British Antarctic Survey. I am primarily based at BAS Cambridge using observational data from the Weddell Sea in conjunction with reanalysis products and ocean models
My research investigates the mechanisms that control observed changes in the Antarctic Bottom Water supply from the Weddell Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. In the past decade there has been a warming and contraction of this supply and my research focusses on the causes of this looking at changes to the boundary current that carries it and the formation processes that can also impact AABW's properties
