Mr Charles Turner is a postgraduate research student within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.

I did my undergraduate degree at Imperial College London in Physics (2014-2018). For my dissertation, I looked at estimates of ocean carbon sequestration, using various CMIP carbon histories and CMIP6 wind field reanalyses and a GCM fast solver technique (the Transport Matrix Model).

Research interests

  • Ocean heat uptake
  • Ocean carbon uptake
  • Water mass tracers

Research project: The impact of anthropogenic heat uptake on the ocean storage and future uptake of carbon dioxide
