Mr David Price is a postgraduate research student within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.

2012-2016: BSc Marine Biology with International Experience, Bangor University.

I have spent time as a research assistant and intern at Bangor University, Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) and Universidade dos Açores. During this time I have focussed on deep sea habitats and ecosystems (cold-water coral reefs, hydrothermal vents and seamounts), and their inhabitants (from bacteria to megafauna). I’m interested in how the environment drives species distribution, behaviour and spatial patterns.

Research interests

• Cold-water coral reefs
• Deep sea ecology
• Conservation
• Hydrothermal vents
• Intertidal ecology
• eDNA
• Multidisciplinary research
