Miss Diana Shores is Postgraduate research student within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.

2012-2015: PhD studentship, University of Southampton
Current work involves cutting and micro-milling otoliths obtained from Rockall Trough sampling cruises to enable stable isotope analysis of oxygen and carbon elements in deep-sea slope species with an aim to producing a proxy for metabolic rate.

2008-2011: Bachelor of Marine Biology with Oceanography, University of Southampton

2007-2008: BSc Foundation programme in Biological & Chemical Science

Prior to 2007: Primarily Sales and Marketing in the housing industry

Research interests

PhD related

  • Develop a metabolic proxy using stable carbon isotopes in otoliths
  • Compare physiological diversity recovered from otolith carbon isotopes and morphological and taxonomic diversity in modern and fossil ecosystems

BSc related

  • Effects of clam fishing on the infaunal distribution at Poole Harbour
