Miss Gabriella E Jardine is Postgraduate research student within Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.

MSci in Geology with Study Abroad, First-class honours, University of Southampton (2009-2014)

For my undergraduate Master’s dissertation I investigated centimetre-scale heterogeneity in ice crystal fabric at different depths of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) Ice Divide Core. The project was a continuation of summer work during my year abroad with the Penn State Ice and Climate Research Group.

Research interests

My PhD research interest is currently focused on investigating past changes in the hydrology and aridity of the North American Southwest. I am particularly interested in investigating dust production in the region.

Research project: A Dust Bowl future and warm wet future past: Palaeoclimatology of the warm Pliocene to glacial Pleistocene transition on North America recorded in marine sediments of the equatorial Pacific ocean
