Mr Harry Shepherd is a postgraduate research student within Biological Sciences, at the University of Southampton.

He started his PhD at Southampton in September 2018, joining the Ecology and Evolution research group. Before starting at Southampton, he completed an integrated Masters degree (MBiol) at Durham University.

Research interests

His research interests include understanding the role interactions between plants and soil microbes play in controlling community composition and ecological functions. He is also interested in practical applications of these interactions, in particular how they can be used to enhance ecosystem restoration. Other interests include invasion and peatland ecology.
