Research interests

Current specialisms: Reconstructing the climate and environment of Northern England during the Holocene, using laminated sediments from Windermere, English Lake District. Currently the project focus is on quantifying the physical properties of the Holocene deposits, using scanning electron microscope techniques, for environmental reconstruction.

Project Title: Reconstructing high resolution environmental change from Holocene sediments of Windermere

Prof. Alan Kemp
Prof. Jon Bull
Dr Carol Cotterill (British Geological Survey)

Funding: NERC

Other and previous specialism: Freshwater heavy metal pollution and remediation. Reconstruction of air and freshwater born heavy metal pollution.

Research group

Palaeoceanography and Palaeoclimate

Research project(s)

Windermere Research

Holocene climate variability and environmental change from sediments of Windermere, UK

Demonstrating: Undergraduate course in Earth and Ocean Sciences and Geography and Environmental Science.
