Research interests

Research Project: Are deep-water fold belts on passive margins different from fold belts in orogenic belts?

My PhD programme mainly aims to investigate the deformation, movement, and tectonic evolution of deep water fold and thrust belts on passive margins and continental orogenic belts. A wide range of methods would be adopted into my study to significantly understand the architecture, geometry, lithology, and mechanics of fold and thrust belts, such as 2D/3D seismic interpretation, geological mapping, modelling, lithostatic pressure, hydrostatic pressure and pore pressure calculation and analysis. I am also interested in reducing geohazards triggered by stress variations generated by fluid migration and petroleum drilling under sea.

I sincerely welcome various communications, discussions and studies on geo-software (Petrel, Matlab, GMT, ArcGis etc) geological modelling, mechanics calculation and sediments analysis, which will greatly benefit all of us for research progress.
