The state of the art wet chemistry lab suite consists of two polypropylene ducted fume cupboards with sink for metal free sample preparation and handling of strong acids.
Current Lab Use:
The lab is setup for:
- Sample dissolution with various acids, not including HF
- Preparation of acids
- Thermodynamic and reaction kinetic experiments to study CO 2 -water-rock reactions
- Sample preparation for major ion and trace element analysis in aqueous fluid samples
- Analysis of total carbon in rock samples, and dissolved inorganic and organic carbon in aqueous fluids
- Analysis of δ 13 C of dissolved inorganic and organic carbon in aqueous fluid
