Research project: Emerging changes in climate intra annual variability

Currently Active:
Yes

Are day-to-day changes in temperature and precipitation becoming more erratic?

Climate change induced by human activities may have profound impacts for physical, biological and human systems. While many impact studies have investigated the effects of changes in the mean climate on different systems, little is known about past and future changes in climate variability and their potential impacts, which may be seriously underestimated. The main objective of this project is to investigate the presence of past changes in the climate intra annual variability and to determine the timing of emergence of future changes.
