Launch of New Ian Karten Website

Published: 16 December 2020

Parkes Institute is delighted to announce the launch of the new Ian Karten website

Our dear friend and supporter Ian Karten would have been 100 years old this December. The Ian Karten Charitable Trust has just launched a website to mark the centenary of Ian Karten and celebrate his work and legacy, including his deep commitment to the Parkes Institute in which he played a huge role in its development  as a centre of international significance. He met James Parkes after he came to England as a refugee from Nazi Germany. The charitable trust he set up after he retired supported with enormous generosity the work of the Parkes Institute. His support allowed us to establish permanent positions, to fund MA and PhD studentships, as well as to develop our ambitious and rich outreach programme. We would like to express our warmest and eternal gratitude to Ian Karten for his enthusiasm and commitment to our work and ethos.
