Event details

We are delighted to announce a new three-week online course on the Kindertransport designed for educators.

Course overview

The course will run from 5th July 2021 to 23rd July 2021 and will consist of a series of webinars and a chance to participate in online discussion boards. Participants will also have access to a Kindertransport exhibition which has been curated to support this course. The course will be led by experts on the Kindertransport and Holocaust education from within the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations

The course will draw on the very latest research and will cover diverse range of perspectives on the topic of the Kindertransport. Participating will open up exciting new avenues of knowledge, introduce new ways that we can explore the Kindertransport and this knowledge can used in a classroom. The first week will serve as an introduction, the second week looking at case studies in the UK and the final week will cover the experience of those who emigrated away from the UK.

Timetable

The course will run over 3 weeks (5-23 July) with a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous activities. Course material and questions for asynchronous discussion on the Teams discussion board will be released on Monday of each week. Live sessions will take place on Thursdays 17.00-18.30 pm (BST) and will run on Microsoft Teams. Participants will also have access to an online exhibition curated for the course.  The course will be conducted in English.

Registration

Places on this course are free but limited.  Registration will close at 13:30 on Thursday 1 July 2021.
