Qualitative study
The qualitative study is being led by Dr Claire Ballinger; Ali Rowsell is the main researcher on the study and is carrying out the interviews with participants in their homes.
The qualitative study aims to understand the experiences of people with Parkinson’s disease involved in the PDSAFE programme. It involves interviews with 40 participants, in the treatment group, selected from four sites (the first four sites recruiting into the study). They have been interviewed before they start the physiotherapy programme and again at the end of the physiotherapy sessions (after six months). They are asked to tell us about what they hoped to get from the physiotherapy and what they thought of the treatment.
