How will our Associates benefit?
- CPD and career-development opportunities, including financial support to access training (aligning with PERu priorities);
- Support (mainly in-kind) for events/activities which align with PERu priorities;
- Recognition and increased professional visibility;
- Access to PERu 'kit' and potential to draw on other resources within region;
- Scope to collaborate on papers/publications;
- Celebration and dissemination of activities/achievements; and sharing of good practice with colleagues;
- Opportunities to contribute to national discussions, either generally around PER, or on particular topics/strands of work.
What's expected?
We encourage all our Associates to take a lead on:
- Championing engaged research within own area/academic unit/Faculty;
- Keeping PERu informed about PER initiatives in own area/academic unit/Faculty; and brokering collaboration with PERu and/or via PERu to other disciplines/areas;
- Bolstering two-way connectivity between PERu/Engaged University Steering Group and researchers/engagers in own area;
- Bringing personal/disciplinary experience and expertise to discussions and strategic direction setting for PER at Southampton;
- Helping disseminate information/calls/requests from PERu and raise the profile of the UoS engaged research agenda;
- Contributing to PER training/development activities run or coordinated by PERu;
- Informally mentoring another colleague (perhaps from a different part of the University) to further embed PER culture change.
