The University of Southampton
Public Engagement with Research

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to engage and inspire young people with your research?

Published: 18 June 2013

The TEAtime lecture series is for Yr12 and Yr13 students in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. Its aim is to link current University of Southampton research to fundamental content of Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) subjects. The series has been extremely popular with the colleges involved and last year saw over 300 students engage with STEM research in exciting and dynamic ways.

TEAtime is now heading into its fourth year of running and so this year we are looking to recruit more enthusiastic STEM PhD/EngD and Early Career Researchers to lead lectures and interactive workshops for the 2013-14 series of TEAtime. The sessions will be held in October, November, February and March. We are looking for inspiring and interactive workshops and lectures which showcase your area of research. Training and a generous speakers fee (£129.52) will be provided.

For an application form please email outreach@soton.ac.uk, the deadline for applications is Friday 28 June. We will be shortlisting during the following week.

For more information on TEAtime please visit the website and if you have any questions about TEAtime or the application process then please contact Lorna Franklin at outreach@soton.ac.uk.
