Science Shows 101 - top ten tips to get started with

Course description

In this introductory session, experienced presenter Ian B Dunne will share his top ten tips for designing and running a science show.

By the end of the session you will:

have a tool kit of techniques for building up your own shows
be aware of the pit falls that can trap the inexperienced presenter
have explored some of the tricks for getting and holding an audience’s attention
feel more confident in getting started with your own show

This session will be of benefit to academic staff, research staff, and doctoral researchers from any discipline

Course tutor

Ian B Dunne is an experience presenter and science communicator. He is a long-standing contributor to our very own Science & Engineering Day with his 'Magic-Science-Science-Magic' Show, and has presented at the Royal Institution and other Science Festivals.
