The call to participate in Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival 2023 as a contributor is NOW OPEN.
The Festival will run from Thursday 9th to Saturday 18th November and you will be able to contribute two different types of activities:
The Wider Festival will run through the whole length of the festival and will be accessible internationally. All digital content will be hosted on the official website: www.southamptonartshumfest.co.uk.
Hands-on Humanities Day will take place at the Avenue Campus on Saturday 18th November, from 10:30 to 16:30.
This year exhibitors will also be able to contribute content to Black History Month (October), UK Disability History Month (16th Nov - 16th Dec) and LGBT+ History Month (February 2024) as we are welcoming relevant virtual events and activities to be featured on the Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival website before and after the event.
Submissions for all activities are password protected, with a one-stage process for the Wider Festival (or other independently-organised in-person events) and a three-stage process for Hands-on Humanities Day.

After each submission, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a summary of your input immediately on completion.

Please note that there are firm deadlines for each of the stages. These are set in order for us to deliver the best experience possible for both exhibitors and visitors and make sure that all requirements and expectations are met for our venues too.

If you are a researcher at the University of Southampton looking to showcase your project at Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival, please note that the internal call for contributors usually opens at the end of the summer.
An 'Exhibitor Registration' call will be posted on SUSSED, Staff Matters, on the Public Engagement Network (PEN) MS Teams channel and sent to the PEN mailing list. These internal communications will contain the link with the log in details to submit your activity. However, if you wish to receive information about the registration opening directly in your UoS email inbox, please consider subscribing to the new UoS Festival Exhibitors mailing list (internal).
The call will also be announced on the PERu social media profiles, so follow #UoSArtsHumFest and UoS Engagement on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay in the loop.

Students and student societies are always welcome to submit relevant content to be included in the Festival programme. See the 'For researchers' section above for more details regarding the registration call and subscribing to the UoS Festival internal mailing list (open to staff and students).
Students at the University of Southampton looking to volunteer alongside researchers or staff, or to be paid to work as a Student Ambassador are asked to get in touch by sending an e-mail to festival@southampton.ac.uk from the end of September or to check with their local Student Ambassador scheme.
This call is open to national and international collaborators of researchers at the University of Southampton, freelance artists, local cultural venues, schools, trusts and community groups.
