Science Learning Centre - Engineering careers workshops

These workshops for teachers were developed by Science Learning Centre South East with National Grid and RAEng as part of the HE STEM project. The aim was to link curriculum related activities with engineering career pathways and real life scenarios to give teachers some inspiration and background to support lesson based learning. This film highlights, through activities designed for the classroom, the challenges of producing electricity by different methods and forecasting demand. Workshop presenters and teachers talk about content and value in learning about the nation's national grid and the engineering challenges and career opportunities open to young people today.
