Event details

The Philosophy Department at the University of Southampton is hosting a 6th Form Philosophy Conference.

This event will not only stimulate and challenge students already studying Philosophy, but also serve as an excellent introduction to the subject for students who study other subjects. The conference will include lectures on a variety of accessible philosophical topics delivered in an engaging way by University of Southampton philosophers, with plenty of time for Q&A.

Lecture 1 - Dr Will McNeill, 'Seeing stars and the veil of perception'
Lecture 2 - Dr Alex Gregory, 'Does anyone have any moral beliefs?'

12:00 - Tour of Avenue and Highfield Campus

13:15 - Lunch Break

14.00 - Parallel Lecture Session B
Lecture 3 - Professor Genia Schönbaumsfeld 'Wittgenstein on the meaning of religious language'
Lecture 4 - Dr Jonathan Way, 'Does virtue require moral knowledge?'
